Between them, in the past five years, they’ve managed to saddle no fewer than 2843 winners, winning a combined prize money pot of an astonishing £36,000,000!


FERGAL O'BRIEN
Fergal O’Brien began his training career in 2011 after 19 years as assistant to Nigel Twiston-Davies, where he contributed to the success of notable horses like Earth Summit, Bindaree, and Imperial Commander . He initially set up at Cilldara Stud near Northleach before relocating to Ravenswell Farm near Cheltenham in 2019 .
In 2017, O’Brien achieved his first Grade 1 victory when Poetic Rhythm won the Challow Novices’ Hurdle at Newbury . The 2020–21 season marked a significant milestone with 104 winners, placing him third in the trainers’ championship . He continued his success with 128 winners in the 2021–22 season and 141 winners in the 2022–23 season .
Notable horses trained by O’Brien include Crambo, who won the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot in both 2023 and 2024 . In 2024, he trained Shakem Up’Arry to victory in the TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival .
O’Brien’s commitment to the sport is evident in his consistent success and the development of a competitive string of horses at Ravenswell Farm.

BEN PAULING
Ben Pauling launched his training career in 2013 after six years as assistant to Nicky Henderson. He began with a modest string at Bourton Hill Farm, Gloucestershire, before relocating to Naunton Downs in 2022. His first major success came with Willoughby Court, who won the Grade 1 Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle at the 2017 Cheltenham Festival.
Other notable horses include Le Breuil, winner of the 2019 National Hunt Chase, and Shakem Up’Arry, who secured the TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival for owner Harry Redknapp.
In the 2024–25 season, Pauling trained Handstands to victory in the Grade 2 DragonBet Towton Novices’ Chase, marking his fifth win from seven starts. As of April 2025, Pauling’s stable has achieved 65 wins from 379 runs, with a 17% strike rate.

WILLIAM KNIGHT
William Knight began his training career in 2006, establishing his operation at Angmering Park in Sussex. Over 14 years, he trained more than 300 winners, including Illustrious Blue, who secured victory in the 2010 Goodwood Cup.
In April 2020, Knight relocated to Rathmoy Stables in Newmarket, a facility equipped with approximately 80 boxes, an equine pool, spa, treadmill, and covered ride, providing excellent access to Newmarket’s gallops. Since the move, his stable has achieved significant success, with Sir Busker delivering a first Royal Ascot win in 2020 and later winning a Group 2 race and placing third in the Juddmonte International. Another notable horse, Checkandchallenge, won a Group 3 at Deauville and a Listed race at Newmarket. In 2024, the yard recorded 40 winners, including Frost At Dawn’s Group 3 victory in Dubai.
Knight continues to train a competitive string of horses that compete at the highest levels of flat racing.

HUGHIE MORRISON
Hughie Morrison, based at East Ilsley in West Berkshire, began his training career in 1997. His first major success came in 2002 when Frenchman’s Creek, a horse he also bred, won the William Hill Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
While Morrison initially found success in National Hunt racing, he has since focused primarily on Flat racing. Notable achievements include training Pastoral Pursuits and Sakhee’s Secret, both of whom won the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket. He has also trained six Royal Ascot winners, including Sagramor in the Britannia Stakes and Pisco Sour in the Tercentenary Stakes.
In 2022, Morrison reached a career milestone by training his 1,000th winner. His dual-purpose approach has yielded success with horses like Not So Sleepy, who won the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle in 2021 and 2023. Morrison continues to train a competitive string of horses that compete at the highest levels of both Flat and National Hunt racing.

KIM BAILEY
Kim Bailey’s career began under the guidance of esteemed trainers Captain Tim Forster and Fred Rimell. He established his own training operation in the late 1980s and currently operates from Thorndale Farm in Gloucestershire.
Bailey has achieved the rare feat of winning the Grand National with Mr Frisk in 1990, the Cheltenham Gold Cup with Master Oats in 1995, and the Champion Hurdle with Alderbrook the same year. He has trained over 1,300 winners, including notable horses such as First Flow, who won the Clarence House Chase, and Does He Know, a Grade 2 winner.
Operating from Thorndale Farm, Bailey continues to train a competitive string of horses that compete at the highest levels of National Hunt racing.

DYLAN CUNHA
Dylan Cunha’s journey in horse racing began in South Africa, where he trained under Robert Armstrong and Barry Hills in the UK before returning home to assist Justin Snaith. He achieved a remarkable feat by winning a Grade 1 race with Strategic News in 2007 while still in his twenties .
After a decade-long career as a commercial pilot, Cunha returned to training in 2020, establishing his base at Phantom House Stables in Newmarket. Starting with just three horses, his stable has grown significantly, boasting over 60 horses .
Notable successes include Prague, a modest £10,000 purchase who won the Group 2 Joel Stakes at Newmarket in 2024 , and Silver Sword, a winner at York’s Ebor Festival. Cunha’s approach emphasizes individualized training and open communication with owners, contributing to his growing reputation in British racing.

JAMIE SNOWDEN
amie Snowden began his training career in 2008 after serving as assistant to Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson. In 2011, he moved to Folly House in Lambourn, where his first runner from the new yard, Knighton Combe, won the Summer National. His first Cheltenham Festival victory came in 2014 with Present View in the Novices’ Handicap Chase.
Snowden has trained several notable horses, including Ga Law, winner of the 2022 Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham, and You Wear It Well, who secured victories in the Grade 2 Jane Seymour Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle and the Jack de Bromhead Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival. Another standout, Datsalrightgino, won the Grade 2 Future Champions Novices’ Chase at Ayr in 2023.
As of early 2025, Snowden has trained nearly 400 winners, with the 2023–24 season marking a personal best of 47 winners and over £737,000 in prize money.

CHARLIE FELLOWES
Charlie Fellowes began his career working under top trainers like James Fanshawe, Nicky Henderson, and Australia’s Lee Freedman, gaining valuable experience both at home and abroad. He started training in his own right in 2014 and is now based at Bedford House Stables in Newmarket, the former yard of Luca Cumani.
Fellowes quickly established himself with a reputation for improving horses and placing them astutely. His most notable success came with Prince of Arran, who became a Melbourne Cup favourite after placing three times in Australia’s biggest race. At Royal Ascot, he trained Thanks Be to victory in the Sandringham Stakes, giving Hayley Turner a landmark win, and Onassis, who landed valuable races at Ascot and Deauville.
With consistent results at home and internationally, Fellowes has proven himself a skilled and ambitious operator, blending traditional horsemanship with a sharp eye for opportunity.

WARREN GREATREX
Warren Greatrex launched his training career in 2009 at Weathercock House, Upper Lambourn, after serving as assistant to Oliver Sherwood for nine years. In 2012, he moved to Uplands Stables, the former base of Fred Winter, starting with a modest string that has since grown significantly.

OLLIE SANGSTER

NICKY RICHARDS
Nicky Richards took over the reins at Greystoke Stables in Cumbria in 1998 following the passing of his father, Gordon W. Richards, a renowned trainer. Prior to this, Nicky had been a champion amateur flat jockey in 1973 and served as his father’s assistant for several years. His first runner as a licensed trainer, Better Times Ahead, secured a win at Carlisle in October 1998.
Among the notable horses he has trained is Monet’s Garden, a grey gelding who achieved multiple Grade 1 victories, including the Ascot Chase and the Melling Chase. Other significant horses from his stable include Faasel, The French Furze, Turpin Green, Simply Ned, and Takingrisks, the latter winning the Scottish Grand National in 2019.
Operating from the historic Greystoke Stables, Richards continues to uphold the family’s legacy, training a competitive string of horses that compete at the highest levels of National Hunt racing.

BRIAN MEEHAN
Brian Meehan began his training career in Lambourn in 1993 after six years as assistant to Richard Hannon Sr. Starting with just eight horses, he quickly made his mark, securing his first Group 1 victory with Tomba in the Prix de la Forêt. In 2006, Meehan moved to the historic Manton Estate in Wiltshire, a renowned training centre established in the late 1860s.
Meehan has trained several notable horses, including Dangerous Midge, who won the Breeders’ Cup Turf in 2010, and David Junior, victor in the 2006 Dubai Duty Free. His success continued with Most Improved, who clinched the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2012.
Operating from Manton, Meehan has maintained a consistent presence at the highest levels of international racing, combining traditional training methods with modern facilities to achieve success across Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

TOM CLOVER
Tom gained early experience as a pupil assistant to Charlie Longsdon before transitioning to the Flat racing sphere. In 2016, he established his own training operation at the historic Kremlin House Stables in Newmarket, working alongside his wife, Jackie, daughter of the late trainer Michael Jarvis.
Clover has trained several notable horses, including Rogue Millennium, who won the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2023 and was runner-up in the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown. Another standout is Rogue Lightning, who secured victory in the Group 3 Dukhan Sprint in Qatar in 2025.
Operating from a yard equipped with modern facilities and access to Newmarket’s renowned gallops, Clover continues to achieve success on both domestic and international stages.

ROGER TEAL
Roger Teal began his career in racing at 16, working for John Jenkins before becoming assistant to Philip Mitchell. During this time, he gained international experience with horses like Running Stag, who achieved success in the United States. In 2007, Roger took out his own training licence and spent nine seasons in Epsom, training notable horses such as Steele Tango, a Group 3 Darley Stakes winner who also secured two victories at the Dubai Carnival. Other successful horses from this period include Cochabamba, Surrey Star, and Tigers Tale, the latter winning the London Mile final in 2014.
In 2015, Roger and his wife Sue relocated to Windsor House Stables in Lambourn, a facility equipped with top-class amenities including an equine swimming pool and access to premier gallops. From this base, Roger trained Oxted, who won the Group 1 July Cup in 2020 and the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2021, marking significant milestones in his training career.

BEN BROOKHOUSE
Ben Brookhouse began his training career in 2021, taking out his license at Saville House Stables in Newmarket. He previously honed his skills with Ian Williams, Jim Bolger, Henry de Bromhead, and Hugo Palmer. At 30, he became Newmarket’s youngest trainer, managing a predominantly National Hunt string with a dual-purpose approach.
His first winner came with Sarsons Risk, a juvenile hurdler owned by his father, Roger Brookhouse. Notable horses trained by Ben include Aslukgoes, who won the 2023 Winter Bumper at Newbury, and Espoir De Teillee, a veteran hunter chaser with multiple victories.

CHARLIE LONGSDON
Charlie Longsdon began his training career in 2006 after gaining extensive experience as assistant to Kim Bailey and Nicky Henderson. He also spent time working for Oliver Sherwood and Nigel Twiston-Davies during his university holidays, and in 2004, he won the Alex Scott Memorial Fund Assistant Trainers’ Scholarship, which allowed him to work for Todd Pletcher in the U.S.
Based at Hull Farm near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, Charlie has trained over 700 winners. Notable horses include Snow Leopardess, who won the Becher Chase at Aintree and the Grade 1 Virgin Bet Mare’s Chase at Exeter. He has also trained winners for prominent owners such as The Queen, JP McManus, and Alan Halsall.
Charlie’s commitment to training relaxed, happy, and healthy horses is reflected in his consistent success and the strong relationships he maintains with loyal owners.

JULIA FEILDEN
Julia Feilden began her training career in 1999, establishing her base at Harraton Stud on the outskirts of Newmarket. She quickly gained a reputation for getting the best out of limited resources, regularly producing winners with modestly bought horses. One of her standout achievements came with Spirit of Sharjah, who finished third in the Group 2 July Stakes and was rated among the top two-year-olds in Europe in 2007. Another notable success was Najaaba, bought for just £800 and crowned All-Weather Horse of the Season in 2003/04.
Over the years, Julia has trained more than 300 winners, combining strong horsemanship with a personal approach to both horses and owners. In 2024, she began a joint training licence with her daughter Shelley Birkett, a former jockey with over 100 career wins. Their partnership marks the first official mother-daughter training team in Britain, continuing the family tradition at Harraton Stud with a focus on results and welfare.

SIMON DOW
Simon Dow, a first-generation trainer based at Clear Height Stables on Epsom Downs, has built a respected career since taking over Wendover Stables in 1987. Over the years, he has trained more than 600 winners, including notable successes with horses like Young Ern, who secured victories in the Group 3 Hungerford Stakes and Prix du Palais Royal, and Mr Scaramanga, a Group 3 winner in Qatar.
Dow’s versatile training approach has yielded wins across various race types and locations, from local all-weather meetings to international black-type races. His commitment to the sport and consistent results have solidified his reputation within the racing community.
