grey line
05-Jul-20   Hughie Morrison   Le Don De Vie   La Don De Vie was bought to race in Australia and will be going there later in the year. It would be good if he could win a nice race and he ran well at Ascot without quite quickening on the ground there up the straight. I always thought he'd enjoy cut but with it probably more like heavy today, it's hard to know and it's a very tough race anyway.   Was placed 4th at 10/1
grey line
05-Jul-20   Ian Williams   Heart Of Soul   Heart Of Soul has twice gone to the races since his promising Newmarket comeback over an inadequate trip, and has been forced to miss the races owing to drying ground. Forecast sunny conditions and strong winds are not the ideal combination to keep the going in his favour at the end of a long day, but if it is okay, he should go well over what is a more suitable distance.   Was placed 2nd at 15/2
grey line
04-Jul-20   Shaun Keightley   Mayson Mount   Mayson Mount has experience of the track on his debut last autumn and ran a much better race when fourth behind a previous winner at Newmarket on his comeback. This looks very competitive but if Josie can get him away and in a decent position he could prove an each-way proposition at rewarding odds.   Was placed 3rd at 12/1
grey line
03-Jul-20   Administrators NB   NB - Chairmanic   Chairmanic was unlucky to be caught over seven furlongs here and then at Newmarket ran into a progressive rival who went on to win emphatically in better grade last week. He faces another field of improvers, but has drifted out to a value price and is worthy of each-way support.   Won the race at 14/1
grey line
03-Jul-20   Brian Meehan   Chairmanic   Chairmanic was just caught out for being a gallop short when mugged close home here on his comeback. I thought he was a little flat at Newmarket but that winner has bolted up again since then. Good each-way claims on a track he clearly likes.   Won the race at 14/1
grey line
01-Jul-20   Oliver Sherwood   Le Boulevardier   Le Boulevardier is a home-bred from a good family and he's been in work for some time. He's quite a lazy horse but goes okay and could run well.   Was placed 3rd at 7/1
grey line
01-Jul-20   Harry Whittington   Medalla De Oro   Medalla De Oro is one from one over hurdles. This track should suit and as he’s had a run on the Flat recently, he's fit and ready to go. Big chance.   Was placed 2nd at 11/2
grey line
01-Jul-20   Administrators NB   NB - Ultimate Getaway   Ultimate Getaway was underwhelming in Irish points but Fergal O'Brien excels with that type of horse. He is reportedly working well and the stable is adept at first-time winners in bumpers, so here goes!   Won the race at 7/2
grey line
01-Jul-20   Ben Pauling   Sebastian Beach   Sebastian Beach is high enough in the ratings but is in the best shape I could have him. I believe he will be suited by the step back up to three miles - he won at the trip for his previous stable - and expect a good run today.   Won the race at 20/1
grey line
01-Jul-20   Micky Hammond   Stormin Norman   Stormin Norman might just need the run on his comeback but he is a horse that doesn't need too much work. He's very consistent and we think he prefers going this way round. We're more than hopeful, in fact with the way the horses have been running, quietly confident of his going very close.   Won the race at 4/1
grey line
01-Jul-20   Fergal O'Brien   Ultimate Getaway   Ultimate Getaway had patchy form in Irish point-to-points. Since joining us he has improved a great deal physically and goes well on the gallops. Has a big each-way chance first time in a bumper.   Won the race at 7/2
grey line
01-Jul-20   Ben Pauling   Tel'Art   Tel'Art is a horse with ability as he showed in his bumpers, but then he rather lost his way last season over hurdles. I think the little break has done him the world of good and hope for a decent performance.   Won the race at 5/1
grey line
30-Jun-20   Administrators NB   NB - Pearl Beach   Pearl Beach stayed on strongly into third at Chelmsford. She should improve further over the extra quarter-mile.   Was placed 3rd at 13/2
grey line
30-Jun-20   William Knight   Pearl Beach   This is the right race for Pearl Beach who will clearly appreciate the step up to a mile and a half. I'm less sure about the ground - her dam, whom I trained liked soft - but if she handles it she'll go very close   Was placed 3rd at 13/2
grey line
30-Jun-20   Ali Stronge   Star Of Athena   Star Of Athena has one nice win on her card but in reality she's been a little unlucky not to win more. She's a big filly and therefore unsuited by tight tracks. This galloping circuit should be more to her liking and it's not the best race in the world. She should put up a solid performance tonight.   Was placed 3rd at 7/1
grey line
30-Jun-20   Hughie Morrison   Cider Apple   Cider Apple was green on debut on this course, only running on when the penny dropped late on. She should be a more formidable proposition tonight.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
grey line
29-Jun-20   Administrators NB   NB - Treaty Of Dingle   Treaty Of Dingle should at least be fully fit and holds up the handicap. As her trainer suggests, there is so much unexposed talent in the field that any support should be each-way.   Was placed 2nd at 12/1
grey line
29-Jun-20   Micky Hammond   Irv   Irv has been working well at home and seems to have benefited from a wind-op. I am hoping the ground will not get too soft for him and he does go well fresh. He should be competitive and has an each-way chance.   Was placed 2nd at 18/1
grey line
29-Jun-20   Hughie Morrison   Treaty Of Dingle   With her profile, Treaty of Dingle, second since lockdown and pretty consistent, ought to be among the favourites for a handicap like this. The structure of racing at the moment, though, means she's facing horses with handicap marks that may well be under-stating their potential and more importantly present levels of ability. She'll do her best, as always, but I fear a peak-form run might bring her no better than fourth or fifth.   Was placed 2nd at 12/1
grey line
27-Jun-20   Brian Meehan   One Small Step   One Small Step is a nice filly but she'll need this debut run. She's one to watch for the future.   Was placed 2nd at 33/1
grey line
27-Jun-20   William Knight   Libretti   Libretti came to us from John Gosden and made a pleasing stable debut at Kempton in a decent maiden race. She has a fair rating on her form and could go close.   Won the race at 12/1
grey line
26-Jun-20   Ian Williams   Monjeni   Monjeni won well last time on all-weather but I was disappointed that the handicapper put him up 8lb. He has some good efforts at similar tracks in his past and Andrea rode him into a close third at York off a rating of 79 three seasons back. Not without each-way chances.   Was placed 2nd at 15/2
grey line
25-Jun-20   Administrators NAP   NAP - Goodwood Rebel   Goodwood Rebel ran as if needing the outing on his return at Lingfield. With the stable in such great form it is reasonable to anticipate a better showing, and the 3lb drop in his mark will help.   Was placed 3rd at 10/1
grey line
25-Jun-20   William Knight   Goodwood Rebel   Goodwood Rebel joined us this year after running as a two-year-old for Ralph Beckett. We were hoping for a better run than he managed at Lingfield first time for the stable but he never got competitive after losing ground early on. On his home work he will be going there today with plenty of confidence behind him.   Was placed 3rd at 10/1
grey line
24-Jun-20   Administrators NAP   NAP - Shaffire   Shaffire, sprinting with her previous stable, was quickly moved up in trip by Harry Whittington and she belatedly got off the mark last time at Wolverhampon trying her longest distance yet. A little further again tonight should not stop her and Oisin Murphy is an additional encouragement.   Was placed 2nd at 5/1
grey line
24-Jun-20   Harry Whittington   Shaffire   Shaffire came out of her race at Wolverhamton very well, and this first win has definitely given her some confidence. We are looking forward to having the champion jockey on board her tonight.   Was placed 2nd at 5/1
grey line
24-Jun-20   Administrators NB   NB - Tanfantic   Tanfantic is speedily-bred. The Meehan stable is doing well with its two-year-olds and a prominent showing is anticipated.   Won the race at 12/1
grey line
24-Jun-20   Brian Meehan   Tanfantic   Tanfantic, who runs in the colours of our racing club, is a son of Guitafan. There is plenty of speed in his pedigree and we are hopeful of a prominent showing, although he will be better for the experience.   Won the race at 12/1
grey line
23-Jun-20   Ali Stronge   Don't Cry About It   Don't Cry About It is no world beater. I hope the ground will dry up as he prefers quick going.   Was placed 3rd at 50/1
grey line
23-Jun-20   Administrators NB   NB- Sepahi   Sepahi has done us a couple of favours lately, winning in emphatic fashion both times. Her come-from-behind style is better suited to here than Wolverhampton, therefore that second victory was doubly meritorious and didn't look like happening for a long way until the turbo kicked in. She is reportedly in good form and can complete the hat-trick.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
grey line
23-Jun-20   Shaun Keightley   Masked Identity   Masked Identity didn't get home at Chelmsford over ten furlongs and will be helped by dropping back to a mile. He's in good form and must be in contention.   Was placed 2nd at 4/1
grey line
22-Jun-20   Administrators NAP   NAP - Mousebird   Mousebird ran a strong race last Monday at Chepstow, finishing into a close third, her best run yet. That was over two miles but she shouldn't be inconvenienced by coming back two furlongs and she gets a confident vote to open her account.   Was placed 2nd at 7/2
grey line
22-Jun-20   Administrators NB   NB - Imperial Fora   Imperial Fora is fancied to continue Brian Meehan's good form. The son of Holy Roman Emperor progressed a great deal from his first to second run and can make the most of his experience and fitness to win this.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
22-Jun-20   Brian Meehan   Imperial Fora   Imperial Fora still had a bit to learn when mugged at Wolverhampton after being taken on by the market rival in the first half of the race. He beat him off only to be caught late. I think it will be a different story today as he's thriving with his races and he should make his experience tell against a field of predominantly newcomers.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
22-Jun-20   Hughie Morrison   Mousebird   Mousebird ran her best race yet at Chepstow, staying on valiantly all the way to the line. A repetition of that performance would make her the one to beat.   Was placed 2nd at 7/2
grey line
21-Jun-20   Charlie Mann   Capone   Capone never went a yard at Sandown when we thought he'd run a decent race. We're trying blinkers today but at this stage you have to say the Jury's out on him.   Was placed 3rd at 14/1
grey line
21-Jun-20   Ian Williams   Harlow   Harlow has been off since last summer and I'm not sure about today's trip which may be short of ideal. That said, he's going well enough and if things fall his way could have a small each-way chance.   Was placed 3rd at 10/1
grey line
21-Jun-20   Administrators NAP   NAP- Rooster   Rooster was expected to run a nice race on debut at Newmarket and was not too far behind beaten Royal Ascot favourite Eye Of Heaven and winner Tactical when showing signs of greenness. He has to turn around form with Gussy Mac who was a neck ahead of him that day, but we believe Hughie Morrison may have left more to work on.   Was placed 2nd at 5/2
grey line
21-Jun-20   Hughie Morrison   Rooster   Rooster ran well in a hot race on debut at Newmarket and meets the horse who finished a neck ahead of him again. The betting market seems to expect that horse to have made more improvement, but Rooster got unbalanced and then slightly hampered late on. Looks sure to be in the shake-up.   Was placed 2nd at 5/2
grey line
21-Jun-20   Brian Meehan   Palavecino   Palavecino was very impressive around here last time. He gets a 7lb penalty but he's improving by leaps and bounds and it should not stop him from completing the hat-trick.   Won the race at 2/1
