16-Jun-19   Administrators NB   NB - Sea Art   William Knight has been optimistic before all three of Sea Art's runs so far this season, believing him to be a stayer with a future. It could be the combination of a longer trip and forcing tactics proved too much of a test last time at Redcar. Back at Salisbury over the distance which produced his best effort to date, he may prove a value each-way bet.   Was placed 2nd at 8/1

16-Jun-19   William Knight   Sea Art   Sea Art has been disappointing so far this year. I thought stretching to a longer trip last time at Redcar would suit but after making the running he weakened. His previous run, a closing fourth over today's course and distance was his best effort and I hope he'll show more like his home form back there today.   Was placed 2nd at 8/1
grey line
15-Jun-19   Micky Hammond   Only Orsenfoolsies   Only Orsenfoolsies won last time at Carlisle - at 33-1! - on the Flat, and remains in good form. He's running off a big weight here but Billy’s 7lb claim will help the old lad on a track and ground that will suit. He has a big shout here.   Won the race at 7/4
grey line
15-Jun-19   William Knight   Seinesational   We run two in this and last time over slightly further, Seinsational came out a couple of places ahead, but only half a length in front of Archimento. Also he did not get a clear run that day so as long as he handles the ground he'd have a decent chance.   Won the race at 16/1
grey line
14-Jun-19   Administrators NAP   NAP - Spargrove   Marmelo's brother has so far shown nothing anywhere near the Melbourne Cup second's ability, but Hughie Morrison's three-year-old was a decent second on his handicap and year debut at Southwell. This extra two furlongs on soft ground can bring further improvement and a first victory.   Was placed 3rd at 9/2
grey line
14-Jun-19   Hughie Morrison   Spargrove   I've no doubt by the end of the year Spargrove will prove himself a 75-rated horse and he'll appreciate today's longer trip and soft ground. The problem at this stage of his develoment is he cannot be trained too hard because of his physical immaturity. Today the favourite will be very hard to beat - officially 5lb well in - after last week's Brighton romp so we'll be happy enough if he beats the rest.   Was placed 3rd at 9/2
grey line
13-Jun-19   Hughie Morrison   Forbidden Dance   Hopefully Forbidden Dance will like the soft ground. She didn't run badly last time when the going was too quick for her. If she were really fit I'd give her a chance, but I fear she might still be a little short in that regard.   Was placed 3rd at 16/1
grey line
13-Jun-19   Brian Meehan   Swinley Forest   Swinley Forest is a very nice colt by Ivawood. We think a lot of him but the ground is an unknown so it's hard to go there with too much confidence until we know how he'll handle conditions. I think he'll run well and is a horse to follow.   Was placed 3rd at 20/1
grey line
12-Jun-19   Shaun Keightley   Trouble Shooter   Trouble Shooter has a difficult draw, but then again he was also poorly drawn when third at Chelmsford the other day. I'm not sure about the ground for him, but he's a value price and could also get in the frame.   Won the race at 11/1
grey line
11-Jun-19   Hughie Morrison   Mystic Meg   Mystic Meg had been headstrong with her previous trainer and showed similar characteristics first time for us at Goodwood. I'm not sure that a similar effort on the softest ground she has ever encountered is the recipe for success. Again, I'll have a look at ground conditions for her when I get to the track.   Was placed 2nd at 11/1
grey line
10-Jun-19   Fergal O'Brien   Global Tour   Global Tour is in great form and full of confidence. This race looks deeper than the three he won in quick succession recently but he obviously has a solid chance.   Was placed 3rd at 5/2
grey line
09-Jun-19   Warren Greatrex   Bailarico   It's obviously a step up in grade for Bailarico but he's got a light weight. The ground won't be a problem and it will be interesting to see how he goes from the bottom of the handicap rather than the top in lower grade. Fingers crossed.   Was placed 3rd at 8/1
grey line
09-Jun-19   Administrators NAP   NAP - Sir Busker   When Sir Busker came through to challenge late on at Ascot we thought he would be in the winner's enclosure soon after but he flattened out. First-time visors and a drop in grade on suitable ground should combine (with Oisin) for a first win of 2019 for the William Knight trainee.   Won the race at 4/1
grey line
09-Jun-19   William Knight   Sir Busker   Sir Busker hasn't been concentrating at the end of his races so far this year and he's pretty much thrown them away because of it. The ground will be fine for him and the first-time visors should help him concentrate. Good chance.   Won the race at 4/1
grey line
08-Jun-19   Hughie Morrison   Born Leader   Born Leader was an expensive breeze-up purchase in France last year, but so far she has performed very disappointingly on the track. At home she shows more than her modest rating, so we hope she can put in a better effort tonight.   Was placed 3rd at 5/1
grey line
08-Jun-19   Administrators NAP   NAP - Romsey   Romsey was a 20-1 shot on debut at Windsor but ran way above those odds in a close third in a decent race. She is well drawn today and will appreciate the extra furlong so looks likely to be a first juvenile winner of the season for Hughie Morrison.   Won the race at 10/11
grey line
08-Jun-19   Hughie Morrison   Romsey   Romsey ran very well first time at Windsor and I'd hope she would have improved for that. I would have preferred to stay at six furlongs with her, but the alternative race at that trip looked very hot, so she's here. Big chance, we trust!   Won the race at 10/11
grey line
07-Jun-19   Shaun Keightley   Volunteer   We were delighted with Volunteer's first run in a bumper and there were circumstances which conspired against him the last twice. He lay out of his ground on his most recent run but finished right on the heels of the leaders. I am hopeful he will be competitive today.   Was placed 2nd at 9/1
grey line
07-Jun-19   Harry Whittington   Indieburg   Indieburg is a nice, big, rangy type that should progress well over hurdles. His bumper run in the autumn was very disappointing but his rider reported him as being weak. We've given him the time to strengthen up and he's done plenty of schooling so he's ready to go.   Won the race at 25/1
grey line
07-Jun-19   William Knight   Unit Of Assessment   The rain has arrived for Unit of Assessment and I think that will help him get back to the kind of form he showed for much of the winter. He wasn't at all disgraced the last twice back on turf but under these easier conditions represents a decent each-way shout.   Won the race at 8/1
grey line
07-Jun-19   Ali Stronge   Storm Melody   Storm Melody likes it around Bath and getting Silvestre is always a good jockey booking. He won’t mind it if they get the rain and hopefully he can run his usual solid race and go well.   Won the race at 3/1
grey line
06-Jun-19   Hughie Morrison   Say Nothing   I was a little caught out at Nottingham at just how much work it would take to get Say Nothing fully fit. She should be straighter today, but it is difficult to understand how she has to give weight to some of these, given their form. A place would be great going forward.   Was placed 2nd at 12/1
grey line
06-Jun-19   Administrators NB   NB - Broughtons Rhythm   It's been a case of so near yet so far for Broughtons Rhythm over fences, but off bottom-weight in this modest contest, this could be his day.   Was placed 2nd at 5/1
grey line
06-Jun-19   Oliver Sherwood   Broughtons Rhythm   At the back of my mind I'm thinking Broughton's Rhythm might need to go up even further in trip but Leighton thinks he'll be all right and should win. The snag with old horses is that chances are few and far between and it's almost a case of if he doesn't win this he'll never win. Let's pray that he does!   Was placed 2nd at 5/1
grey line
06-Jun-19   Micky Hammond   Just Jean   First-time-out Society Rock filly. Bought at the breeze-ups this spring, she's shaping nicely but will probably need this outing.   Was placed 2nd at 66/1
grey line
05-Jun-19   Micky Hammond   Indian Vision   Indian Vision had a highly-successful campaign last summer, winning twice from his four handicaps on turf. He returns after ten months off so will undoubtedly benefit from the outing, but we believe this late-developing stayer will prove himself an improved performer this term.   Was placed 3rd at 12/1
grey line
04-Jun-19   Harry Whittington   Cardy   Cardy has been showing good things on the gallops at home and looks to have plenty of speed. This mares’ bumper looks a good opportunity for her debut for the yard. She has a fabulous attitude so we are looking forward very much to running her.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
grey line
04-Jun-19   Administrators NB   NB - Cardy   Former Irish pointer Cardy didn't manage a win but since joining Harry Whittington has shown plenty of ability. This mares' race may not be the most competitive and she can bring her experience to good use.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
grey line
03-Jun-19   Administrators NB   NB - Tartlette   Hughie Morrison drops Tartlette into a lower grade for this race and disposes of the blinkers which did not seem to help her at Chepstow. This could be the starting point for a positive midsummer.   Was placed 2nd at 4/1
grey line
03-Jun-19   Micky Hammond   Irv   Today's track, ground and the step back up to a mile will all suit Irv. He goes into the race in great form and we think he might just turn over the odds-on favourite.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
01-Jun-19   Fergal O'Brien   I'm Wiser Now   I'm Wiser Now came into his first hurdle race on the back of solid bumper form. His unseat there was we believe merely an unlucky blip as he routinely jumps very well. He is going nicely at home and we are confident he can win this.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
grey line
01-Jun-19   Micky Hammond   Black Kettle   Black Kettle ran a great race last time when second to stable-companion Roxyfet. He remains in fine form at home, should stay the trip and today's ground should be no problem. We have a promising 7lb claimer on board - we think the weight allowance is a gift! He should definitely be in the shake-up here.   Was placed 2nd at 13/2
grey line
01-Jun-19   Administrators NB   NB - Soto Sizzzler   As with the Derby, we are staying with another previously successful nap this time for the NB. Soto Sizzler bolted up over course and distance on the Trials day here in April and William Knight's gelding looks weighted to make it a course double.   Won the race at 9/2
grey line
01-Jun-19   William Knight   Soto Sizzler   We were very confident before Soto Sizzler ran in the Great Met here five weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised that he went up only 5lb for the easy win. I was worried that the ground might be too firm for him but Oisin told me yesterday that it was riding properly "good" and they put three mils on last night so it should be all right. He's at the foot of the handicap so must have a great chance again.   Won the race at 9/2
grey line
01-Jun-19   Micky Hammond   It's All About Me   It’s All About Me is a course and distance winner on quicker ground than today’s. We think his 4lb rise for the last win was fair and a useful 7lb claimer takes the ride. He will be thereabouts again today.   Won the race at 9/2
grey line
01-Jun-19   Charlie Longsdon   Western Miller   I was disappointed with his last race at Haydock to be honest but we're going back to Stratford where he has gone well before. On his last run at the venue you'd have to give him a small chance to get in the first two.   Won the race at 15/2
grey line
01-Jun-19   Ali Stronge   Sir Canford   Sir Canford has his first run in a handicap and at the same time tries a step up in trip. He's in the right grade and I think he'll run a big race.   Won the race at 12/1
grey line
31-May-19   Hughie Morrison   Enhanced   We're struggling with Enhanced. He did show a glimmer of encouragement at Leicester last time when upped to 10 furlongs and the hope is that he'll benefit from the extra distance and going into a handicap.   Was placed 3rd at 6/1
grey line
31-May-19   Shaun Keightley   Trouble Shooter   Trouble Shooter is drawn 13 of 13, which is normally the kiss of death at Chelmsford. In his case that is a repetition of an earlier run round here when he was fourth of 13 again from the worst draw. That was his best effort yet, so he may not be a hopeless case and we're optimistic he might run into a place.   Was placed 3rd at 5/1
grey line
31-May-19   Brian Meehan   Artistic Language   Artistic Language is being tried in a visor today. Possibly of more concern is the very soft ground which he has never encountered before. If he copes with it he could go close.   Was placed 2nd at 6/1
