23-Apr-19   Administrators NAP   NAP - Agent Basterfield   Andrew Balding's Raven's Pass colt was just pipped at the post by the hard-fit Hypnos on his seasonal return at Chelmsford after racing wide all the way. He should be that much straighter today and is napped to gain his revenge on that rival.   Was placed 2nd at 5/2
grey line
23-Apr-19   Andrew Balding   Agent Basterfield   Agent Basterfield was a little unlucky last time, trapped wide all the way and having to make his move wide at Chelmsford. He could probably be rated a little bit better than the bare result. That should give him every chance and we're pretty hopeful he'll go close.   Was placed 2nd at 5/2
grey line
23-Apr-19   Administrators NB   NB - Manning Estate   Oliver Sherwood has been taking his time with Manning Estate but thinks him ready for this step up in trip. He meets some more-experienced opponents, but is probably the one with the most untapped potenial with the possible exception of Young Wolf. Should go very well.   Was placed 2nd at 5/2
grey line
23-Apr-19   Oliver Sherwood   Manning Estate   The ground isn’t an issue and we’re 99% sure that the trip won’t be a problem either. We think he’s an improving horse but the worry is there might be something lurking under the radar - only time will tell. Whatever the case, he’s got to be bang there.   Was placed 2nd at 5/2
grey line
22-Apr-19   Administrators NAP   NAP - The Kings Baby   The Kings Baby was never in contention last time but would have probably got fairly close bar getting badly hampered at a crucial stage. The extra half-mile should bring her very much into the argument.   Was placed 3rd at 7/2
grey line
22-Apr-19   Harry Whittington   The Kings Baby   The Harry Whittington Racing Club’s The Kings Baby has been in good form at home and she should find this a lot easier than last time. She will almost certainly improve for the step up in trip and can bounce back to form to run a big race even under top weight.   Was placed 3rd at 7/2
grey line
22-Apr-19   Oliver Sherwood   Working Class   Working Class has won around Fakenham before. I am not sure he got the trip the other day. He will love the track and the ground, is in good order and deserves to pick up another one.   Was placed 2nd at 6/1
grey line
22-Apr-19   Fergal O'Brien   Lovely Job   Lovely Job has run well previously at this course. He will love the ground and although it's a tricky betting race with only four runners, we think he could win this.   Won the race at 2/1
grey line
22-Apr-19   Harry Whittington   Mister Coffey   Mister Coffey is by a sire of the moment, Authorized, out of an Anabaa mare with a good pedigree. He is a rangy, scopey, athletic type and a very good mover so he will appreciate the better ground. Whatever he does in his bumper, he will improve enormously through the summer because he is still a big raw type. He ticks a lot of boxes so we are looking forward to running him.   Won the race at 8/11
grey line
22-Apr-19   Fergal O'Brien   Cosmic King   Cosmic King jumps really well, has won at this course and I think he is well handicapped. A clear round is the main objective today but we are confident he will go close.   Won the race at 9/2
grey line
22-Apr-19   Charlie Longsdon   Hammersly Lake   Hammersley Lake runs for plenty of money today and there's only four runners so as long as he gets round he'll pick up a cheque. If he can win it'll be wonderful and in this small field he has to have a decent chance.   Won the race at 11/10
grey line
22-Apr-19   Charlie Mann   Sid Hoodie   Sid Hoodie would have a small chance. She has cheekpieces on today and while this might seem a bit soon to run her again, her owner lives near Fakenham, so she is going there. She should have an each-way chance I should think.   Won the race at 5/1
grey line
21-Apr-19   Warren Greatrex   Escort'namix   Escort'namix was running a good race from the front last time at Haydock when unseating. Without any mishaps she should be the one to beat.   Was placed 3rd at 4/1
grey line
21-Apr-19   Harry Whittington   Salto Chisco   Salto Chisco stayed the trip well last time out. He has his ideal ground today so we are hopeful for another big run from him.   Was placed 3rd at 7/2
grey line
21-Apr-19   Charlie Longsdon   Mach One   Obviously the Gary Moore horse is the one to beat but he has been beaten at odds-on before. If the race falls apart Mach One will have his chance, but although he has won on the Flat he's by no means the most straight-forward.   Was placed 3rd at 5/1
grey line
20-Apr-19   William Knight   N Over J   N Over J has his first run of the year on a track that should prove suitable as he has performed well at Epsom in the past. One negative could be the ground - his one win to date came on soft going at Salisbury. He has been working well at home.   Was placed 3rd at 11/2
grey line
20-Apr-19   Andrew Balding   Dream Catching   Dream Catching is a smashing horse and I think he's improved a bit from last year so should be very competitive. He's won at the track before so should go well.   Was placed 2nd at 4/1
grey line
20-Apr-19   Ben Pauling   Skidoosh   Skidoosh was quite impressive on good ground at Doncaster, staying the three miles well and the follow-up attempt at Newbury probably came too soon and the going was soft enough. He's had a nice break since and the conditions should be in his favour now. Should go very well.   Was placed 2nd at 13/2
grey line
20-Apr-19   Andrew Balding   Rux Power   Rux Power is a lovely filly but she's in a very strong race, virtually a mini Guineas trial, but we like her. Her fitness levels are good. She obviously handled the surface well at Chelmsford so she should handle Kempton all right. I hope she'll run well but it's a strong race.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
20-Apr-19   Fergal O'Brien   Troubled Soul   This is not necessarily the right race for Troubled Soul. We are trying first-time headgear and hope she may sneak a place. At least she gets plenty of weight all round.   Was placed 2nd at 11/2
grey line
20-Apr-19   Micky Hammond   Connective   Connective is a quality individual and a very nice prospect. Unfortunately we don’t know anything about the other three runners!   Won the race at 5/2
grey line
18-Apr-19   Kim Bailey   Yeavering Belle   She ran a blinder first time when winning at Warwick. You can forget her last run as the ground at Southwell was too soft for her. She has place chances here on her Warwick form.   Was placed 3rd at 9/1
grey line
17-Apr-19   Andrew Balding   Seasearch   Seasearch loves the track and stays every yard of the trip. He is pretty consistent and must have a good chance in this company.   Was placed 3rd at 11/2
grey line
17-Apr-19   Kim Bailey   Rocky's Treasure   Rocky's Treasure has had a great season but the downside is that he has been on the go for a long time. He looks and seems well enough in himself and on his best form he should go close. I do worry, though, that it might be one run too many and the holidays beckon.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
17-Apr-19   Oliver Sherwood   Got Away   Got Away has finally managed to achieve some consistency in her last three runs. She's a mare who has always had plenty of ability but her initial scant regard for fences and issues with her feet early this season held her back. She would ideally prefer softer ground - 2m4f to 2m6f on soft or 3m on good are ideal - but as she’s had relatively little racing this season, as long as it’s safe she will take her chance. A laid- back horse, almost horizontal hence the cheek pieces!, she also retains the tongue tie which she has worn the last twice.   Was placed 2nd at 14/1
grey line
17-Apr-19   Warren Greatrex   Bob Mahler   Bob Mahler won in very good fashion last time at Newbury. Today's trip and ground will suit and another positive ride should show him in his best light. We fancy him to follow up.   Won the race at 6/1
grey line
16-Apr-19   Warren Greatrex   Sandhurst Lad   Sandhurst Lad ran very well last time and the step up in trip will play to his strengths. He should go close.   Was placed 2nd at 7/1
grey line
16-Apr-19   Administrators NB   NB - Ask Dillon   Ask Dillon, although an outsider, was quietly fancied for his Chestenham Festival assignment. That high opinion should be borne out in these easier waters and the Fergal O'Brien team remains in good form.   Won the race at 2/1
grey line
16-Apr-19   Administrators NAP   NAP - Shine So Bright   Placed third in all three of the Richmond, Gimcrack and Mill Reef Stakes last year, Shine So Bright has excellent form credentials as he steps up a furlong. The Andrew Balding stable could hardly be in better form and he gets a confident nap vote.   Won the race at 5/2
grey line
16-Apr-19   Andrew Balding   Shine So Bright   Shine So Bright is in great form and has done plenty of work. He might just be a sprinter that's my only concern. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on over seven but 'm sure he'll be very competitive. As long as he lasts home he's got every chance.   Won the race at 5/2
grey line
16-Apr-19   Fergal O'Brien   Ask Dillon   Ask Dillon did not quite run up to expectations at Cheltenham but is one of three obvious contenders in this very tight conest. The Paul Nicholls runner is the likely favourite as the one without a penalty but Ask Dillon won't be far away and has strong each-way claims.   Won the race at 2/1
grey line
16-Apr-19   William Knight   Seinesational   Seinesational might just need it up there today. Saying that it's not the strongest of races so he might just run into a place, maybe even second.   Won the race at 11/4
grey line
15-Apr-19   Nicky Richards   Glinger Flame   Glinger Flame won very well the other day when the cheek-pieces obviously helped. He seemed to like the Hexham track, so this novice under a penalty should be ideal. Hopefully he is the one to beat.   Won the race at 1/2
grey line
14-Apr-19   Oliver Sherwood   Brummie Boys   Brummie Boys, a son of Flemensfirth, is a big weak baby but we like him. He just wants a spin round the field on debut in quite a decent contest. It will be interesting to see how he goes.   Was placed 3rd at 14/1
grey line
14-Apr-19   Harry Whittington   Salto Chisco   Salto Chisco has had the winter off and apart from refusing to let go of his hairy coat he is in really good form. He is bound to need this first run back. He had a good season last time without getting his head in front but the handicapper has not been helpful so we need to consider other options including going up in trip. He’s a popular horse and we are looking forward to starting off his new summer campaign today.   Was placed 2nd at 6/1
grey line
14-Apr-19   Charlie Longsdon   Western Miller   We're whacking the cheekpieces on Western Miller at Stratford hoping that will sharpen up his jumping as he's been disappointing lately. His only win so far over fences was at Stratford 18 months ago.   Was placed 2nd at 5/1
grey line
13-Apr-19   Nicky Richards   Court Dreaming   Court Dreaming runs in the boys' race. He's a decent little horse and is in grand fettle and progressing well. We gave him a little midwinter break after his easy win at Kelso under Danny, who is on him today. We're back again now and hope he'll run a good race.   Was placed 3rd at 5/1
grey line
13-Apr-19   Warren Greatrex   Sunny Express   Sunny Express is a lovely Jeremy gelding making his debut in what is always a very hot bumper. He has been doing everything right at home so despite the level of competition we expect a positive performance from him.   Was placed 3rd at 11/2
grey line
13-Apr-19   Administrators NAP   NAP - Chess Player   It is hard to understate the confidence behind debutant Chess Player in the Ben Pauling yard and with a recent Chepstow bumper winner to compare him with, it is probably understandable. A son of the emerging French stallion No Risk at All, he is an interesting proposition for the nap in what looks an Ayr bumper well up to standard.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
grey line
13-Apr-19   Ben Pauling   Chess Player   Chess Player who runs in the bumper goes exceptionally well. He's a very nice little horse - you wouldn't necessarily look at him and say "wow!" - but even though this is a very strong bumper, I expect him to go very well.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
