16-Feb-19   Ascot   Blu Cavalier   Blu Cavalier might be one of the outsiders in this prestigeous handicap hurdle, but his 140 mark confirms there is plenty of ability if we can rekindle it. When he went to Fakenham for Paul Nicholls on New Year's Day for a selling hurdle the previous owners could not have expected defeat at 2-11, but that's what happened. The Select Racing Club took the opportunity to claim him for 6k and this is his first run for the stable. If he finishes in the first half everyone will be delighted.   Was placed 3rd at 100/1
grey line
16-Feb-19   Haydock Park   Petticoat Tails   Ran very well last time out in Graded company. A big ask again today but she deserves her place in this race and should be in the frame again. The the mares’ allowance will help her.   Was placed 2nd at 8/1
grey line
16-Feb-19   Wincanton   Sandhurst Lad   Has improved with every run over fences. Blinkers have been applied to sharpen him up and hopefully they will help him get his head in front.   Won the race at 3/1
grey line
16-Feb-19   Kempton Park   Unit Of Assessment   Unit of Assessment has a great record around here and I prefer to judge him on his convincing victory two runs ago. Last time here he had the double extra difficulty of a wide draw and penalty for the previous win, but now splits the difference on 4lb lower. The draw is much kinder to him this evening and Adam Kirby, who knows him so well, can be relied upon to give him the best possible chance.   Won the race at 11/2
grey line
15-Feb-19   Fakenham   Good Impression   Good Impression is not a superstar but we're running at Fakenham because most of the owners are from around the area. It's a low-grade race and we will be happy if he finishes in the first three.   Was placed 3rd at 8/1
grey line
15-Feb-19   Sandown Park   Ardmayle   Ardmayle is a nice horse and had a big run in a Listed hurdle before running disappointingly last time at Fakenham. He jumps fences OK but this is a hot race returning to the bigger obstacles and I'll be delighted if he finishes in the first four..   Was placed 3rd at 9/1
grey line
15-Feb-19   Lingfield Park   Tesorina   Tesorina ran well last time for the application of visors. She has a good draw and the benefit of Adam Kirby, always an asset around here. She has a good each-way chance.   Won the race at 7/1
grey line
15-Feb-19   Sandown Park   Carlos Du Fruitier   Carlos is clearly not over-endowed with speed, but his type of dogged gallopig often does well in the Military races. We've been lucky to get Brodie Hampson and I believe they should make a good partnership. We're going into this with decent hopes of success   Won the race at 7/4
grey line
14-Feb-19   Leicester   Lex Talionis   Lex Talionis ran on well for second from a long way back in a better race at Ludlow last time. Today he drops back in distance which should not be a problem and the ground will be fine for him. Has a decent chance if everything goes right for him.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
14-Feb-19   Kelso   Skiddaw Valleys   His owner kindly sent him to me a while ago and it took some time to get him right. At Kelso first time for me he ran a fine race and he's come out of it quite well. Today it looks like Henderson's horse will be hard to beat, but either way he'll get a bit more experience. I think he'll win races, hopefully today but if not, very soon.   Was placed 2nd at 6/1
grey line
14-Feb-19   Leicester   Got Away   She has had a torrid time since winning a Listed chase here just over a year ago. Got Away looked good that day but has completed the course only once subsequently. Apart from jumping issues, brought on by a lack of concentration, she had a lung infection and, this season, feet problems. I’m not entirely sure what happened at Huntingdon last time out. It could be she tired badly off a very strongly-run race and a lack of match fitness or possibly there is an underlying wind problem which we can’t detect. Either way she’s an enigma because I do think she’s a smart mare. I’ve put a tongue tie on her today for the first time.   Won the race at 11/4
grey line
07-Feb-19   Meydan   Dream Today   Dream Today surprised me by winning last time as he didn’t look great before the race. He does look great now and is probably in much better form going into this race. I think he is overpriced and should have a massive chance today!   Was placed 3rd at 12/1
grey line
06-Feb-19   Ayr   Glittering Love   Glittering Love has done nothing wrong and hopefully he'll carry on the good work today. Conditions will suit and he's the one they all have to beat.   Won the race at 2/1
grey line
03-Feb-19   Leopardstown   La Bague Au Roi   Won her first Grade 1 last time out. Continues to be in great form at home and we are very hopeful of a big run.   Won the race at 10/11
grey line
03-Feb-19   Southwell   Seasearch   The extra two furlongs will really suit Seasearch, he's in good form and I'm looking for a bold show from him today.   Won the race at 2/1
grey line
02-Feb-19   Leopardstown   Duke Of Navan   Duke Of Navan is in grand order, will love conditions and if he can reproduce his Cheltenham run he'll have a right chance. He looks a big price to me and I'm hopeful he will run a big race.   Was placed 3rd at 20/1
grey line
02-Feb-19   Lingfield Park   Stone Of Destiny   I'm just a little concerned that we're running Stone Of Destiny back a bit quick so there is a bounce back factor to consider. That said he ran very well last time and I can certainly see him getting a place. On his Royal Ascot form he'd have a big chance of being in the first three.   Was placed 3rd at 14/1
grey line
02-Feb-19   Lingfield Park   Spirit Warning   Spirit Warning is dropping back a furlong and I don't think that will necessarily be a problem. Up 2lbs for his win last time and he should be there or thereabouts.   Won the race at 7/4
grey line
29-Jan-19   Newcastle   Nestor Park   Nestor Park is in great form, he was all wrong last time out in the Challow so we can draw a line through that and I think he'll take all the beating here today. I expect a bold show.   Won the race at 13/8
grey line
26-Jan-19   Cheltenham   Kildisart   Kildisart is in great form at the moment and won really well at ascot last time. He is still improving and should have a another great chance today.   Won the race at 9/2
grey line
25-Jan-19   Lingfield Park   Boutonniere   Boutonniere is a nice horse, he ran alright on debut, a bit greener than I thought he'd be but he is a very nice horse. He's come on from that run and he should have a good e/w chance.   Was placed 3rd at 7/1
grey line
24-Jan-19   Chelmsford City   Rippling Waters   I made a bit of a mistake by not entering her with the tongue strap which she ran so well in last time but I still think she has a big chance as it looks a very weak race!   Won the race at 7/2
grey line
23-Jan-19   Lingfield Park   Mr Andros   Mr Andros was unsuited by the slow pace last time and it should be a quicker pace today. Off this mark he is well capable of winning a race of this nature. (WAS 33/1 WHEN WE TIPPED IT!)   Won the race at 10/1
grey line
22-Jan-19   Kelso   Mahlervous   Ran very well on seasonal reappearance, and then was slightly disappointing last time out. Has been given a wind op as a result of this and hopefully this will see a marked improvement in his performance. He should go close.   Won the race at 10/11
grey line
20-Jan-19   Ayr   Amberose   It's questionable how well handicapped Amberose is and we'll have a better idea after the race. She does seem well and hopefully she'll run a good race.   Was placed 2nd at 8/1
grey line
20-Jan-19   Ayr   Teddy Tee   Teddy Tee has been a frustrating character, he's probably a horse with a fair level of ability but he's prone to make the odd mistake or two. If he gets a clean run around then he should be in the first three.   Was placed 2nd at 7/1
grey line
20-Jan-19   Exeter   Young Lieutenant   Ran very well on debut and has improved for this. Hoping he will get his head in front today before he moves on to a hurdling campaign.   Won the race at 4/1
grey line
20-Jan-19   Exeter   Printing Dollars   Has run very well over hurdles so far. A similar performance here should see her get her head in front.   Won the race at 4/5
grey line
19-Jan-19   Taunton   Raven's Tower   This looks the right sort of race for Raven's Tower, the trip should suit around a tight track like this and I hope Bryony gets on well with him.   Was placed 3rd at 16/1
grey line
19-Jan-19   Taunton   Miss Honey Ryder   Was a much improved reappearance this season. Has continued to improve since and we would expect to see her at least placed here again.   Won the race at 9/2
grey line
19-Jan-19   Haydock Park   Global Citizen   Global Citizen seems very fit and well, he's got a few pounds to find with some of these but he's a horse I've always liked and I hope to see a good run from him. Although he has a bit to find I don't think he's out of this and can go well.   Won the race at 3/1
grey line
19-Jan-19   Wolverhampton   Blazon   Blazon was given a fine rode by Joe Fanning last time when winning at Kempton. This is a similar race and frankly if he runs to the same form he should win this. Not the most reliable but seems in fine form.   Won the race at 7/4
grey line
19-Jan-19   Haydock Park   Dicosimo   Ran with much more credit last time out and continues to be in good form at home. Would like to see him finish strongly here again which would give him every chance.   Won the race at 8/1
grey line
18-Jan-19   Chepstow   Ivilnoble   Ivilnoble is a lovely horse but again it's a tough race. I do like him though and would hope he's got a good e/w chance.   Was placed 3rd at 25/1
grey line
18-Jan-19   Kempton Park   Spirit Warning   Spirit Warning was a bit unlucky to come up against a very well handicapped horse on his handicap debut. He is improving and I expect another big run.   Won the race at 11/4
grey line
18-Jan-19   Kempton Park   Rectory Road   Rectory Road rather disappointed at Lingfield last time so he is back to the track we know he likes and a repeat of his previous win here should see him in the frame.   Won the race at 6/1
grey line
16-Jan-19   Plumpton   Kilfinichen Bay   It's a competitive race, but Kilfinichen Bay always runs his race. I expect him to be placed, obviously it would be great if he won but I think a place is probably more realistic.   Was placed 3rd at 10/1
grey line
16-Jan-19   Newbury   Amanto   Amanto has been on the go for a while now and possibly needs a break but the ground has stayed good which he enjoys. I'm hoping he can also run a nice race and has e/w claims.   Was placed 3rd at 8/1
grey line
16-Jan-19   Newbury   The Macon Lugnatic   The Macon Lugnatic was very disappointing at Warwick last time and I'm hoping for a return to form today. If he can run like he did at Uttoxeter then he'll go nicely and should be involved.   Won the race at 11/2
grey line
15-Jan-19   Newcastle   Wig Wam Wiggle   He is nicely handicapped although he disappointed last time, but goes into this race back in form and I expect him to run well. He would be suited for a little more rain. An each way place is expected.   Won the race at 5/1
grey line
