04-Feb-12   Lingfield Park   Palmyra   I'm very happy with Palmyra and she has taken her first run nicely. Looks like we just have one to beat so you never know. (BEAT THE 4/11 FAVOURITE!)   Won the race at 11/2
grey line
04-Feb-12   Wolverhampton   Look For Love   Look For Love has been very busy of late, but always comes home and eats up and is taking his racing well. This is his best trip so is sure to be involved in the finish again, despite going up in the weights a bit I think he's got a good chance.   Was placed 3rd at 9/2
grey line
03-Feb-12   Wolverhampton   Rei D'Oro   Rei D'Oro looks to be evenly matched with Captivity, but he's been going very well at home and I'd be disappointed if he couldn't win this. Should take the beating.   Won the race at 1/1
grey line
03-Feb-12   Meydan   Bohemian Melody   Bohemian Melody drops back to 5f and he is wearing blinkers again. He is in good order, we are very hopeful for a place and he should be thereabouts.   Was placed 3rd at 11/2

02-Feb-12   Southwell   DICKIE LE DAVOIR   Today's selection is a risky one and with only two places available is probably just a small win bet but, to my mind, is significantly over priced. DICKIE LE DAVOIR has won at Wolverhampton, Kempton and Southwell as well as on the turf and won off a handicap mark of 82 just last May. Significantly though, he has never won,or even run well, at Lingfield which is where he finished last of 7 runners on his latest run and only beat one home the previous time. On the back of that he is 13/2 in a place today yet he won a claimer over course and distance a month ago when he almost certainly had to run above today's handicap mark to win. It would be no surprise if Gracie's Gift. a stablemate of my selection, was to be a non-runner given that he ran on Tuesday. He has been running well of late and repeatedly making the frame but he is not progressive and it’s been some time since he got his head in front so even if he does run I wouldn't want to be a backer at 7/2 Ridgeway Hawk only scrambled home last time and now runs off a career high handicap mark. He doesn't appeal to me as a progressive horse and, as such, has to be vulnerable off this mark. Suddenly Susan is suited by the course and distance but hasn't really looked competitive off handicap marks as high as this in the past. Her second in a Wolverhampton claimer last time out reads nicely enough and she is the obvious danger to my selection but her overall record suggests that she isn't one to be taking short prices about. Twice Red hasn't been able to get competitive previously, Ace Of Spies will be staying on but possibly from too far back and Cheery Cat has never run well here previously. Overall, in a poor race with concerns about each of them, DICKIE LE DAVOIR is the value bet against poorly handicapped horses and can be expected to show improvement back at Southwell.   Was placed 2nd at 8/1

02-Feb-12   Southwell   Roedean   Roedean has come out of her last race nicely and I'm very very confident that she can complete the hat-rick today.   Won the race at 4/9

01-Feb-12   Kempton Park   SANNIBEL   Cats Eyes looks likely to go off odds on but she will have to improve despite dropping back in trip. Her debut run was eye-catching but would not be good enough in itself to win this and her breeding suggests that she is more likely to be a 7-8f than a 5f filly. Whilst it is impossible to dismiss her chance, I wouldn't want to be on her at odds on in a race where she could find herself outpaced. Backers of Chaud Lapin are relying on one piece of form that, to my mind, may not be entirely reliable. On his second run he was allowed the run of the race before being put in his place by a long odds on favourite. That is his only run that suggests that he is capable of winning this and, once again, he wouldn't strike me as likely to be suited by 5f having been outpaced over 6f at Wolverhampton last time. I think that the value lies with SANNIBEL who is likely to be suited by the drop back to 5f and has previously posted form that would be good enough to go close in this. She ran well in her first two maidens, finishing second twice including being caught on the line over 5f at Wolverhampton by a horse now rated 71. She disappointed at Chepstow when seemingly unsuited by the track although there may have been a physical reason for the poor run as she had a 4 month break afterwards despite it only being her third run. She was beaten a long way on her reappearance 4 weeks ago but that didn't look a bad race and she didn't look to get the 7f trip even if she was fully 'wound up' that day. Unless the unraced Kiss My Heart is well backed during the day (currently 22/1) then I would not see any of the other runners being capable of being overly competitive in this. Available at around 5/1, SANNIBEL would be a very attractive each way 'bet to nothing' but anyone doing this should be aware that one non-runner amongst the lesser fancied horses would drastically reduce the value in the place element of the bet.   Was placed 2nd at 13/2
grey line
01-Feb-12   Kempton Park   Clodhopper   Clodhopper is not very good but is running off a very low mark in her first run in a handicap. In the context of this race, I don't see why she won't make the frame at a good price.   Won the race at 20/1
grey line
01-Feb-12   Kempton Park   Four Better   I though Four Better would be pretty decent after winning her maiden but she has run two stinkers since. I like her a lot and she will win races off this mark but she may just need this run. Having said that, her price today of about 10/1 is very wrong and I will kick myself if she bounces back first time after her break. Only two places paying now but maybe worth a small e/w as the price is value.   Won the race at 8/1
grey line
01-Feb-12   Newcastle   Tap Night   Tap Night is one of our nicest young horses and I think that the track trip and going should suit. Barring accidents he should have an outstanding chance of winning this race.   Won the race at 8/13
grey line
01-Feb-12   Newcastle   Et Maintenant   He seems back in great form at home and it is frustrsting that there are no ideal races coming up. Needs soft ground and a galloping track, and if he can stay then he will be very competitive. I just wish it was over 2m4f...   Won the race at 17/2
grey line
31-Jan-12   Taunton   Magic Prospect   I think Magic Prospect could have a bit of a squeak today. He has threatened off this weight and he has had a wind operation since his last run which could well show him in a better light today. I will play it safe and suggest he can get a place but a warning that he may suprise!   Won the race at 9/1
grey line
30-Jan-12   Wolverhampton   Roedean   Roedean is a pretty short price today but deserves to be I suppose. I can't see him being beaten.   Won the race at 1/1
grey line
30-Jan-12   Plumpton   Tarquinius   Don't be put off by Tarquinius' form figures, yes I know they are P, P ,P but he really is better than that. The handicapper has, for once, been really kind and dropped him 15lbs since his last run, so he is now 35lbs lower than when he was second at Bangor two years ago. He has taken longer to get fit than we thought, but is working better now and I think he has a really good each-way chance today.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
29-Jan-12   Ffos Las   Seventh Sky   Seventh Sky is a well bred German horse who has settled in well. He has schooled well and should run a decent race today. The ground would be a concern for this ex-flat horse, but I am hopeful he can get involved.   Was placed 2nd at 14/1
grey line
29-Jan-12   Ffos Las   How's Business   How's Business is one of the best mare's in training and should win this race. Heavy going is an unknown but she is in good form at home. Fingers crossed she can break our lean spell today.   Won the race at 8/15
grey line
28-Jan-12   Lingfield Park   Titan Triumph   I am very suprised to see Titan Triumph as the favourite when he hasn't won for a year! He is in good form and good order and he could well win I suppose but I really don't think he is value at all.   Was placed 2nd at 4/1
grey line
28-Jan-12   Uttoxeter   Sandynow   Sandynow has run a couple of reasonable races recently but it did appear they may have been stretching him a little, so a drop back in trip today should do the trick. He is on a low weight with ideal ground and I have added Cheekpieces which will help too. He will go off in front and I think he will be very hard to catch and has a big winning chance today.   Won the race at 3/1
grey line
28-Jan-12   Doncaster   Lady Sinatra   Lady Sinatara looked to be tailed off turning into the straight at Newbury on her debut, before taking off with the jockey and finishing faster than anything to finish 5th. If she has learnt from that experience which she looks like she has at home, she should get in the places at a nice price.   Was placed 2nd at 28/1
grey line
27-Jan-12   Lingfield Park   Naughtical   Naughtical ran a sound race on her last start after a little break and she should have benefited from that run. She could go well in what seems a fairly tricky contest.   Was placed 3rd at 15/2
grey line
27-Jan-12   Lingfield Park   Satwa Laird   Satwa Laird is a sulky horse and just didn't want to race last time out. He seems well at home and would have an obvious chance if he fancies it today. Putting my neck on the line....I think he will!   Won the race at 1/1
grey line
27-Jan-12   Huntingdon   Ile De Re   Ile De Re ran really well over his two hurdles races and this Righ handed track will suit much better than the two Left handed tracks. There are a couple to beat in this race but I think we would have the beating of them all.   Won the race at 11/8
grey line
26-Jan-12   Kempton Park   Fearless Poet   He disappointed last time but the ground was very deep that day at Southwell after track maintenance had been carried out. Previously he had been running consistently well without getting his head in front. My one concern would be that 7f is on the short side for him but the surface should suit him and he should go close tonight. I'll be disappointed if he isn't placed at least.   Won the race at 7/2
grey line
26-Jan-12   Meydan   Marcret   Marcret has come to us from Italy and he has travelled over to Dubai well and has been working well. 1m1f is his trip, but it seems a very hot looking race. We shall see if he is good enough. I would hope for a good run.   Was placed 3rd at 16/1
grey line
26-Jan-12   Newcastle   Brindisi Breeze   Brindisi Breeze has ability and will be suited by the distance and race conditions but Lacks a little experience. He is improving and South Leinster maybe hard to beat but he will give it his all.   Won the race at 100/30
grey line
26-Jan-12   Newcastle   Fog Patches   I have put Fog Patches straight into a handicap for his chase debut. A former point to pointer he has done plenty of schooling so I am not too worried that it's not a novice chase. If he has strengthened physically as much as I think he has he should be in the first three.   Was placed 3rd at 4/1
grey line
26-Jan-12   Newcastle   Lucia Bay   Lucia Bay has been running well and improving. I thought she was unlucky at Sedgefield to find one too good and should make amends today. The drop back to 2 miles should be ok and I think the soft going will suit too. Looking for a big run and should win.   Won the race at 4/6
grey line
26-Jan-12   Warwick   Inga Bird   Inga Bird won't want any rain, so keep an eye on that. The longer trip of 3 miles 2 will really suit hime really well and I see him running a good solid race and must have every chance of winning.   Won the race at 5/2
grey line
26-Jan-12   Warwick   Ballyalton   I've not got the best record in bumpers but Ballyalton must have every chance of going very close. The trip and ground will suit and he has been running very well at home. Henderson's is the one to fear but if things fall right for us, we must have a good chance.   Won the race at 11/2
grey line
25-Jan-12   Hereford   Yacht London Lady   Yacht London Lady ran very well in a competitive bumper at Huntingdon last month. She is sure to have come on for that run, and shouldn't be too far away today.   Was placed 2nd at 9/2
grey line
24-Jan-12   Southwell   Fluctuation   Fluctuation is yet to win a race which is frustrating as he is pretty consistant. This looks quite a tricky race today but he goes there with a good chance if everything falls right.   Won the race at 11/2
grey line
23-Jan-12   Wetherby   Knockando   Knockando did the job well last time and I think still has a few pounds in hand with the handicapper. We want soft ground which I think it is today and we are looking for a very big run. The only horse to beat in my mind is the Donald McCain horse as he is in great form but I am pretty confident.   Won the race at 13/2
grey line
23-Jan-12   Wetherby   Legbeforewicket   Legbeforewicket lacks a bit of talent but we have found a very weak race. I would like to think we can make the frame today and 12/1 is probably too big.   Was placed 3rd at 12/1
grey line
23-Jan-12   Wolverhampton   Chabada   Chabada really please me on her first run for me and I did think she would run well but the win was a bonus. She probably needs further to show even more and with the improvement she has shown since her first run, and this longer trip, she should win without too much fuss.   Won the race at 7/4
grey line
22-Jan-12   Towcester   Financial Climate   Financial Climate has improved since his last run. He was due to run at Towcester on boxing day but pulled a muscle but he has recovered from that. We hope that he is a certainty to be in the first 3 as he is in superb form at home.   Was placed 3rd at 5/1
grey line
21-Jan-12   Ascot   Shoreacres   Shoreacres has turned the corner since reverting back to hurdles. He's gone up in the handicap, but I still feel he is on a winning mark and sure to make a bold show from the front. Should go very close.   Was placed 2nd at 5/1
grey line
21-Jan-12   Ascot   Grove Pride   He will benefit from going right handed on a stiff track and again he should be there or thereabouts.   Was placed 2nd at 11/4
grey line
21-Jan-12   Haydock Park   Pearlysteps   Would like to think he can run a similar race in similar conditions to his last run which he will obviously have benefited from apart from the fall at the last. With a clear round he should take all the beating and is my best chance today.   Was placed 2nd at 6/1
grey line
21-Jan-12   Wincanton   The Rainbow Hunter   The Rainbow Hunter is on a confidence restoring mission after two heavy falls over fences but he is 9lbs higher than when last out over the smaller obstacles. Hopefully he will stay on his feet and he'd have a place chance but no more.   Was placed 2nd at 10/1
grey line
20-Jan-12   Chepstow   Grafite   Grafite won a moderate contest very easily at Lingfield. He will love the heavy ground and although this is a more competitive race than last time, he could still be good enough to be in the shake up.   Was placed 3rd at 12/1
grey line
